 | Galing! ano yung puti na prang tubig na tumigas? |
 | Ang galing talaga! The details really amazes me! Thanks for sharing. |
 | joeppette wrote on Jan 5, '08, edited on Jan 5, '08 Galing! ano yung puti na prang tubig na tumigas? hahaha! minerals yun jan. kaya nga tinatawag na mineral water eh dahil ang tubig na dumadaan sa cave ay may mineral content. kung sa ceiling tumulo yun eh nagiging stalactite at if hindi nagform sa wall at nahuhulog lang sa floor eh nagiging stalagmite. if the 2 meets then nagiging pilar! whew! naglecture na naman ako! hehehe! |
 | ang gleng.. copyrighted na.... panu yan? na copy ko na.... coplylefted na tuloy... hehehe |
 | Thats what they call: Rimstone dams (or gours)
Rimstone dams (or gours) are calcite or other mineral barriers that pond streams or shallow pools in caves. They tend to form stairsteps when in a series, and often extend into flowstone deposits above or below. Often flowstone is festooned with tiny micro-gours on horizontal surfaces. When dams form under running water, they tend to be higher when the passage is steeper. Shallow-gradient dams tend to be lower and more sinuous in nature. Rimstone is one of the most common cave formations, after flowstone, stalactites, and stalagmites.Rimstone dams form where there is some gradient, and hence flow, over the edge of a pool. Crystallization begins to occur at the air/water/rock interface. The turbulence caused by flow over the edge of the building dam may contribute to the outgassing or loss of carbon dioxide from water, and result in precipitation of mineral on this edge.

 | if mag camping lang....assuming you would be cooking your own food......then you would only be paying camping fee lang and the entrance. List of activities you can do:
tubing river trek (great chance to see monkies) caving (Kamira and Baliho cave) trek on ilijan hill (dagohoy hill) village trek
|
 | maybe you could offer to make a study on the types of animals you would be able to see in the area......para they can provide you discounts on the activities.......forgot to mention kayaking.....great way to enjoy bird watching.....rates per activity would be hard to get a discount pero if you can can get an X deal similar to what i pointed above.....maybe they would be open in giving you a discount |

hmmm...this is definitely interesting! thanks for the info IAN! yeah, because carbon dioxide is really difficult to remove in water (as compared to oxygen molecules) because it forms a chemical reaction with water and other solutes (like calcium) and it needs certain amout of force (like turbulence) to breakdown the bond. i got it but i still counldn't picture out what a flowstone looks like or may be i've seen it before but did not pay more attention to it while we did the caving in Camira (or Kamira) cave. do u have sample photos of this cave formation? about the package welp, thank u very much for the detailed info. it will help me a lot in my planning. i think it would be best that i'll bring my bs biology students there next year because they are a managable group and already done with their botany subject and they can help alot in the identification of the flora in the area, welp, at least some of them. thank u IAN! hope to c u there next year! =:-) |
 | Urghh... I'm claustrophobic.. so this photos really scares me.. but very good capture.. by including the man, I can see the actual size of the place... :) |

 | Great pictures! Ang galeng! |
 | Wow! Ano to? Ngayon lang ako nakakita nito. |
 | This crab lives in the cave, right? so if the species live in the dark, i guess it would not need the coloration. Similar to deep sea species where light cannot penetrate through. :) just a hunch. |
